Pete and I have been capturing moments together since 2007. That was long before we had a studio and long before we understood what this work would become. What we understood then, and believe more deeply now, is that childhood passes faster than any parent is ready for.
Templin Photography exists because of that truth.
We create calm, private experiences where children feel safe and seen. We turn what unfolds into heirloom artwork designed to live in your home for generations. Not a gallery of files on a hard drive. Something that hangs on your wall and carries the feeling of a moment your family will return to for the rest of your lives.
This is the work we are called to do.

We did not come to this work by accident.
We have been photographing together since 2007 and married long enough to know exactly how the other works in a session.
Pete brings a mastery of studio lighting and a calm, steady technical precision that shows in every image we deliver. His background spans over two decades in technology, and that instinct for getting things exactly right crosses over completely into the craft of photography.
I create the environments, the story arcs, and the conditions for real moments to happen. I think in scenes: what the light should feel like, where the child's attention will naturally go, what needs to be in the room and what needs to be removed. When a child walks through our door, my job is to make sure they feel safe before they feel anything else.
Together, we have built something that is more than a studio. It is a place where families return year after year. They return not because they have to, but because the experience becomes part of their tradition.

What We Believe
We believe childhood wonder is worth protecting. Not performing. Nor manufacturing. Protecting.
We believe the moments that matter most are the ones that happen when no one is watching the clock.
We believe heirloom artwork outlasts trends, screens, and hards drives. It belongs on a wall where a family can return to it for the rest of their lives.
We believe Santa experience is one of childhood's most meaningful traditions and that it deserves to be treated with the same care as any other tradition worth preserving.
We believe there is a right way to welcome a child into a deeper understanding of Christmas magic. We offer honest and deliver something tangible to carry forward into daily life.
These beliefs are the framework to every session we design, every set we create and each piece of hand-edited artwork we deliver.

Who We work with
Our clients are mothers and grandmothers who feel how quickly this is all going.
They are not looking for the fastest option or the most convenient Saturday. They are looking for someone they trust with their child. Someone who will slow the session down, read the room, and create something worth keeping.
They return year after year. They send their sisters. They tell us their children ask about coming back before the season even begins.

Location
Finding Us
Our studio is located on Main Street in downtown Duvall, Washington. It's a small town with a walkable Main St. We are just 20 minutes east of both Redmond and Woodinville, about 15 minutes south of Monroe, and traffic-depending about 40 minutes from downtown Seattle.
Families come to us from across the greater Seattle area, including Bellevue, Bothell, Issaquah, Kenmore, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Sammamish, Snoqualmie, and beyond.
The drive is part of the experience. Duvall is worth it. We're happy to offer local dining recommendations too! Come experience the Snoqualmie Valley Sunflower festival or take in one of our amazing farms for pumpkins and fall harvest season.

A session with us starts with a conversation and we are happy to answer any questions before you book.
Our signature experience, Magical Memories with Santa, opens for the season in July each summer. Sessions are limited by design.
